Щорічно 21 лютого усі нації та народи світу відзначають Міжнародний день рідної мови.
Every year on February 21, all nations and peoples of the world celebrate International Mother Language Day.
Це свято досить молоде. Воно було запроваджено у листопаді 1999 року згідно тридцятої сесії Генеральної конференції ЮНЕСКО з метою захисту мовної й культурної багатоманітності. Мова — це історія народу, його світогляд, інтелектуальний та духовний результат кількатисячолітньої еволюції кожного етносу. Без своєї мови, своєї самобутньої культури немає народу. Із тисяч мов, які існують на планеті, найдорожчою для кожного з нас є його рідна мова.
Тож вітаємо з Міжнародним днем рідної мови та щиро бажаємо всім серцем і душею завжди любити свою країну, пишатися рідною мовою і прославляти свою культуру. Нехай мова завжди залишається сильним і потужним інструментом не тільки спілкування, а й розвитку.

This holiday is quite young. It was introduced in November 1999 by the thirtieth session of the UNESCO General Conference to protect linguistic and cultural diversity. Language is the history of a people, its worldview, the intellectual and spiritual result of several thousand years of evolution of each ethnic group. There is no nation without its own language, its own unique culture. Of the thousands of languages that exist on the planet, the most precious for each of us is his native language.
So we congratulate you on International Mother Language Day and sincerely wish you to always love your country with all your heart and soul, be proud of your native language and glorify your culture. Let language always remain a strong and powerful tool not only for communication, but also for development.
